During the development of Pulse, numerous prototypes were explored to perfect the balance of flexibility, comfort, and therapeutic effectiveness. Using 3D printing and flexible materials like TPU, the design of the interwoven mesh and tessellated tiles was iterated upon. Through rigorous user testing and feedback, the ergonomic form factor was refined, and the placement of the heat, TENS, and massage components was optimized to ensure maximum relief for various pain points.
The integrated electronics combines heat therapy, TENS, and massage, while temperature sensors ensure precise and safe heat regulation. Utilising the Arduino Uno, the various levels of therapy can be controlled remotely to simulate real life use where the user could use this device on the go
