A Pause For Thought

My practice involves the creation of a series of intimate oil portrait paintings primarily using colour, negative space and geometry to evoke emotion. I present the everyday mundane, exploring introspection, reverie and melancholy. The paintings are on a smaller scale to create a sense of intimacy with the viewer and to reflect the nature of the small moments within the work. This sizing also allows for a more dynamic relationship between the pieces through curation, prompting connection or contrast.
