Through the use of acrylic paint and large-scale canvas, my work explores the narrative of intuitive abstract expressionism. How painting can be used as a way of expressing emotion with no words, allowing each layer of paint inform what comes next.
My plan for the Degree Show was to give the viewers a glimpse into how my mind works, anxiety, happiness, and sadness amongst many more mental states of mind, all conveyed through shapes, colours and brush strokes that come together to form a painting. I have produced five 150x150cm canvases that are presented side by side around my space. Surrounding the room, immersing the viewers, and allowing them to seamlessly spectate the work.
