Drawing inspiration from the natural British landscape, I work abstractly and explore the materiality of oil and acrylic paint, aiming to create a tangible expression movement and colour.
My paintings are inspired by the British landscape and organic shapes found within nature. I hope to mirror the fluidity and movement of the land, by creating expressive and gestural work.
I use a combination of oil paint and acrylic washes to make my pieces. Oil is so versatile and can be used for a variety of glossy and matte finishes, as well as to create a multitude of expressionist finishes. Acrylic paint is perfect for creating layers and fast paced movements as it’s watered down easily and dried very fast. I hope through my painting the viewers can recognize and indulge in my expressionist process and the vast materiality of paint.
