On Being

On Being is a series of seven short films that depict the beautiful, awful and complex nature of our day-to-day lives. I write from personal experience but hate the thought of it staying personal. I hope everyone that passes through finds a frame, a sentence, an image that speaks to their lives.

‘Memory is viscous’

When thinking of how to represent memory, or being in someone’s mind, the flickering fragments are suited to the movement and dynamics animation provides. By the time you’ve figured out what’s happening on screen, the image has gone.

It has also become an incredibly important memory practice for me- each frame is made using the memory of the last.
