My work depicts unique, imagined landscapes and the plant life within. The otherworldly scenery allows the viewer to relax their mind, escaping everyday life and stress temporarily. Bright colour is used to achieve a positive, often quiet landscape.

Through paint, I depict unique, imagined landscapes and the plant life found within. The quiet landscapes are untouched by human life, a place created in my mind that grows and evolves through each painting. The otherworldly scenery was designed as an alternative place to reality, the canvases reminiscent of windows and doorways looking in. It’s a space where the viewer and I can relax our minds, escaping everyday life and stress temporarily. The plant life found within is inspired by nature, objects seen in everyday life, sci-fi films, and video games. Bright colour is used to create a positive, often quiet, landscape; the brightness of colour is influenced by my emotions while painting. The lack of black present within my work adds a surreal feel to the landscape, I find it interesting to use colour alone to create light and shadows.
Experimentation with displaying miniatures alongside a large canvase. The miniatures are part of my painting process, I use them to experiment with colour, compositions and imagined plants.
